Please don't misunderstand me: Michael Jackson was an enormously talented performer who transformed pop music in the early '80's. In my view, a lot of his music will far outlive him, just like the Beatles, Elvis, and Sinatra.
But two weeks ago, 90% of the millions who crashed computer servers and filled the Staples Center to morn him today were laughing at him for his ravaged face and weird private life.
Today, in a flash, he is a 'god' once more, and the moguls paw at him for his money.
