The last survivor who could actually remember the Titanic died in 1996 -- before the blockbuster movie came out. Ms. Dean has refused to watch the movie, fearing it will be more than she can take.
Sad Update: Ms. Dean passed away on 31 May 2009, a month and a half after this post was written.
