Ka-Boom!

Smart-I explodes on the Moon.Ever had the ornery desire to look up at the moon by chance some night and see a meteor smash into it? Well why wait? Some people have the wherewithal to do it themselves, albeit on a much less dramatic scale than some of us might want.

Here's what it looked like when Europe's Smart-I space probe hit the moon, courtesy of the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope. (They did this on purpose!):
